Our Four Core Attributes

We are

We are

We are

Faithful

MWEG believes faith plays a unique role in fostering ethical advocacy and inspiring compassionate, peaceful political action. MWEG was founded by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who felt inspired to raise their voices in the cause of ethical government. We seek to reflect the example of Jesus Christ in our peacemaking and advocacy.

We welcome all women who are willing to abide by our principles and who are comfortable belonging to an organization that is guided by faith.

Disclaimer: MWEG is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We do, however, honor and sustain the Church’s doctrines and leaders.

Nonpartisan

MWEG is a nonpartisan organization. We are not defined by party labels but by our common commitment to ethical government. We encourage our members to be politically active; we do not discourage personal party affiliation. MWEG will not endorse candidates or party platforms, nor will it privilege one party over another in candidate forums or other public events.

Peaceful

We are absolutely committed to proactive and courageous peacemaking. We respect every human being as a child of God and believe we are all sisters and brothers. We are committed to healing divides and standing against incivility and violence.

MWEG’s principles of peacemaking guide our approach to political engagement. Our principles of peacemaking are adapted from the principles of nonviolence, with a focus on actively making peace and following the example of Jesus Christ.

Proactive

MWEG and its members work to create meaningful change by promoting peace and ethics in our government and communities. We take effective action after thoughtful discussion, research, and strategizing. We also empower our members to become educated and effective political actors in their own lives and communities, using the skills they have learned in MWEG to continue to make change.

Our advocacy work and positions are guided by our principles of ethical government and our principles of nonpartisanship.
